The Face of Heaven So Fine

Here’s a piece I wrote on Shakespeare’s “new” portrait. It appears in today’s Chronicle. They changed the title. The orginal was the title of this post.

I guess I’m old and too attached to Will I’ve been accustomed to seeing all these years.

I’m very thankful we have photographs. I would hate to think that someone might re-paint you in a few hundred years or so!

    I suppose they could Photoshop you… 😉

Great article, nice…words! I must say I’m liking the new portrait.

“What shallow, callow creatures are we that a curve of hip, a curl of lip, a sparkle, a glow, a finely drawn foot, will set our hearts to flutter.”
was my favorite line! Good job! It was awesome!

Reminds me very much of the line in “Pulp Fiction” when Bruce Willis’ chica says.. “It’s unfortunate that what we find pleasing to the touch and pleasing to the eye are seldom the same thing.” I love that line. Good things Chris.

I never knew that news publications changed titles until my sweetheart became somewhat famous. The author’s titles are nearly always better too. I enjoyed this article.
